The 72nd Pythian district, comprised of Lodges from Queens, the Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Dutchess Counties, is engaged in various activities in conjunction with Grand Lodge. These include the Dr. Smoller Social Service Fund, the Associated Health Foundation, Drug Abuse Rehabilitation, the Humanitarian Fund, the Pythian Camp, the Youth Commission, and the Special Olympics.

The 72nd District, also, has programs which are uniquely theirs. These include Coats for Kids, Phones for Seniors, the Sidney Edelson Pacemaker Fund and Knights on Wheels, a day of fun, competition and activities for the physically and mentally challenged.

Last, but not least, we have the individual lodges that carve their niche in the area which is their domain. Members work together to raise funds for any one of a miriad
of charitable endeavors. They may help provide scholarships to local high school students, feed the needy, house the homeless, fight illiteracy, or educate against drug abuse, among others.
